Docents & Greeters
Perhaps the most visible volunteer opportunity is our face to the public: docents and greeters.
For over 70 years, dedicated volunteers have been inspiring visitors from around the world and local schoolchildren with tales of our earliest Rhode Island history. Docents in colonial attire lead 50-minute tours of the 1678 house from May through mid-October. Greeters provide an equally important first impression, staffing the Visitors’ Center to welcome guests and collect admission.
